I'm able to get the game to boot in vanilla.  I'm crashing when I go from ESRB screen to game instance after using Windower 4 GUI.

Same problem for me. I can load POL through Windower4 just fine, but POL crashes after the ESRB screen. Can load the game just fine if I go through regular POL without using windower. Have tried checking and unchecking compatibility modes for everything, checking and unchecking run as admin for everything... nothing seems to work.

Same problem as others. Open POL> ffxi Top page> play> CRASH...

I'm running the latest Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 10547, I have a laptop running the same OS, just the Home version. Windower runs perfectly fine there but not on my desktop. Some feedback will be appreciated.

Windower is crashing POL for me also as soon as I launch FFXI through POL. Any fix yet?

I can't get it to work either. And I don't have a crash dump to post- mostly because I don't know where to find it. My install is clean and I'm really hoping to find a fix for this soon. ): Windows ten loves to alt-tab me for no apparent reason (sticky keys turned off) and when that happens in retail FFXI, alt-tabbing crashes the game. I cannot* play without windower. This sucks. ^^;;

a friend of mine had issues with this too, the way he fixed it for him, was to go into his ffxi folder, right click the polboot.exe and uncheck the compatibility mode box, and check the run as administrator box iirc. I did tell him to post it on here, but looks like he hasn't so far. Also, FFXI and windower are obviously set to run as administrator and not set to compatibility mode. Additional steps to try: search your pc for polboot.exe and change all instances to in the way stated above. also, disable UAC.

i am new to windows 10  i am haveing trouble with ffxi 11 and windower4  .it crashes when i press the play button . any could help me

Are we any further forward on the crashing that occurs after hitting "Play"?  I've tried loads of screen resolutions and stuff but constantly getting "pol.exe has stopped working".  Windows 10.

I have a issue with windower4 graphic settings, I can run the game from POL with edited Regedit's, and it looks pretty good, however when I run it from windower4 the menu over lays, like the equip screen and the side menu bar and text box's are HUGE - looks way pixelated , not sure where I can change this with the windower4 "settings" I open up the Edit page (the pencil) and the only settings I can change are the Resolution, no where do I even see background resolution and menu overlay settings.

I had to do a re-install of everything since my HD crashed, so now I'm running windows10.

Am I missing a file or .txt ini or something?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure If I was supposed this on a new topic, since most people here are experiencing crashes, and my issue is a graphical one.

The "Background Resolution" is controlled by the Super Sampling setting check box in Windower 4; the "Menu Resolution" is controlled by the UI Scale slider.

Hey so just about every time i equip something from wardrobe 2 it crashes my game, its not 100% but still, i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling windower... don't really want to reinstall ffxi, is there anything i can do?

actually it seems as all its doing is crashing when i try and equip anything from anywhere or job change

if you are using the GUILDWORK plugin try disabling it

nope i don't use that plug-in though i thought plug-ins didn't work anymore anyway

okay so I completely forgot about check file option in start up and I ran that and it seems I can change jobs without pol crashing at the moment, so far anyway

Windower wouldent work on a new machine running windows 10. POL works fine launched on its own. Run as administrator, windower pops into a white box and the launcher crashes. Heres how i fixed:

This fixes the white box issue.

Next find your windower 4 folder in program files. Mine was C:> Program Files (x86) >windower 4

Select the Windower 4 file and right click > properties

Uncheck read only and apply to all subfolders.

Start the program, it worked for me.
