XI View V2.2.1 (Sept, 1, 2017) - [USER INTERFACE]

Hi, I have switched to a new PC and I can't seem to get the window backgrounds to be working properly, they still seem to be the original FFXI ones. I have downloaded v. 2.11 and have copied the ROM across. The fonts, pointers & icons all work perfectly as per usual, just the windows... has anyone else got this prob? I am computer stupid so I might have done something also.

In ROM/0 there's a number of .dats named by description for the background .dat they corrspond to.

These need to be renamed to 14.dat - 21.dat replacing the default ones for ingame options 1-8.

So far so good. Haven't noticed any issues or anything reverting back.

might sound like a dumb question, but I click mirror 1 or 2 to DL the new xi view brings me to a new website which i signed up for both windower and the site it brings be to, butttttt doesn't give me a link or a file to download either, please help

nevermind i got it, looks amazing awesome job!!!

You shouldn't need to sign up to the site to download the stuff, the purpose of having two mirrors is just incase anyone has an issue with either one.

Any news about the february update? Working fine? Anybody tested it yet?

I've been running it, I took a look over stuff, no new status icons were added, there was a mild change in the description of one but thats about it.

If anyone comes across any issues please give me a message so I can work on fixing it

Release button is missing for me and when I click the merit page, currency page comes up and the button for currency is missing

I've gone through previous pages and I've not seen anyone mention this for Feb 17th patch so far.

Seems mine is broken, i don't have anymore the icons, and no remains shadows too

Firstly I advise anyone using Xi View to run a FFXI file check to remove it after an update, then reinstall it fresh.

Most updates will bork Xi View if you don't do so as it'll replace some (but not all) of the .dats associated with it.

If the problem persists after completing the above steps, please give a detailed account of the issue and I will do my best to fix it.

With this info also include the version, language and screen size of Xi View you are using.

@Lidenbok: The problem you are describing sounds like you're using an old version, can you please follow the above steps and ensure you're running v2.11, if the problem continues, I'll need details of the language & screen size to look into that.

@mirlikovir: Your problem sounds like you've not reinstalled Xi View since the update, the update slightly (barely) altered the status icon .dat, thusly Xi View needs to be reinstalled - follow the above steps and if the problem persists, I'll need the same info to look into it.

I'm just looking for clarification before I have to rip apart my dats, hunt down my DDS plugin for CS3 and find changetex again...Came back after a year break just about and I miss my old abbyssea and bard icons.

The latest version as of this post is 2.11 according to the zip file, does this include the currency menu, monstrosity menus working as intended, and that new Rune Fencer Regen Thing they added? I'm only looking for clarification that this will work with the Feb 17th update and everything is accounted for before I spend all night doing this old school when I used to with the alpha issue for the icons etc...

The Feb 17th version update altered nothing that would prevent 2.11 working, it includes the currency menus and everything else.

The new rune JAs didn't come with a status icon (as there was only minor alterations to a few ja descriptions, but no new status icons added Feb 17th at all)

So yes, to answer your question - this is a full working version, its a little unpolished atm as I've not added new icons in a while but is completely functional.

Hey Caradog, This may sound odd, but we should look into it. Wonder if we could get the team to get this added as a user addon that could auto update. Seems everything else is lol.
