Windower crashing on startup

When I start Windower today after the game's update it crashes when attempting to download the new plugin updates (or something); it was working fine before today. I've included a picture and my crash log below if those are of any help. I'm assuming the crash log is showing my multiple attempts at starting Windower. Please help!

This indicates that you don't have write privileges to your Program Files folder. Check this post for work-arounds.

Here's an update:

- I uninstalled Windower and reinstalled it. It reinstalled fine (I didn't encounter the same issue as before) however when I attempted to install the 'Config' or 'Timers' plugins from the Plugins tab it crashed.

- I tried to reinstall Windower again but now I am enountering a brand new issue:

- During the 'Installing C++ 2008 Redistributable...' step for installation I get the message, "Error opening file for writing: C:\Users\Nick\AppData\Local\Temp\vcredist_x86.exe". I've attatched a screenshot to show this.

- I've never enountered this issue before; it only started after I attempted to install the Config plugin during my first reinstall attempt.

Please let me know if there's any information I can give you. I'm getting quite jaded right now trying to fix all of this.

It sounds like something really screwy is going on with your PC. The installer is a standard NSIS installer, with only one tiny modification. If it's failing then you have much bigger problems.

Here's another update:

I reinstalled C++ 2008 Redistributable (both x64 and x86) and it seems to install Windower properly now... sometimes? It's hit or miss - I've tried multiple times to reinstall Windower and it only works sometimes whereas the other times I'm getting the same error. But this issue is fine for me - I did some googling and it's probably something to do with my PC and multiple drives interacting strangely with C++ Redistributable 2008.

Which brings me to my main problem: I still can't install the 'Config' or 'Timers' plugins.

Whenever I try to install them in the Plugins tab the launcher just stops working and I get a generic Windows, "This program has stopped working." error. This is the same problem which caused me to try and reinstall Windower in this post:

Other users reported this as being a problem with their AV software. And honestly, the installation error may be due to that as well. Try disabling your AV and trying again.

Windows has closed playonline viewer when it is going to the game screens. This started right after the January update. I can only get on the game now by just using the playonline without windower. Any thoughts?

It's probably not you. The AV software sees that the plugin tries to write to cross-module memory and thinks that's virus behavior (which it can be... Windower in general does some virus-y things, which is why AV software has triggered on it before). You'll have to add an exception to it (preferably for the entire Windower folder).

I added an exception to the entire Windower4 folder and it works.

However, when I typed into the Windower console, "config mapdrawdistance " I accidentally left the value empty and pressed enter, after which the Windower crashed. I was able to reproduce this a second time by not entering another value. Now, I'm not sure if this is related to the antivirus or not or just an issue with the Config plugin itself, but I'd thought I'd mention it.
