The menu icons are missing a lot of spells like flurry and the new spells. is there any intention to fix that?

I think you are referring to ROM/280/15.dat SE did add some new menu icons there like Frazzle,Distract and Snap and Maybe others. If you're using mine, it's updated but with the old school icons which are colors. If your using Caradog's, I'm not sure he's touched that file, he would have to answer that.

yea for that file Im using caradogs cause it uses the same icons that the status ones with makes it really cool and easy to identify.

Yea figured that last update right after the other would cause yet a new need to patch UI again. Fun how that works. I swear, we need a way with Windower to push the new files somehow.. even if its just dumping them in a folder that can be written into... then we copy them over manually.

Hey Mysticales, did you figure out how come DNC finishing moves stored over 5 do not show up properly?  It goes from the regular icon to the BCNM icon with a "DEBUG Error: Please report"

The only reason they would display incorrectly is if you're using a version of Xi View from a point when the game didn't have them (its the default icon for stats yet to be implemented).

I completely removed this file by default, its stored in the addons but hasn't been updated in a while as I personally prefer the default game icons since they got remodelled - however the last time I checked a large chunk of the new abilities were still a square box with Abi written across them (the default icon SE uses for icons not given an associated file), will check again tonight to see what they've updated etc =D

I am using the most recent version though.  ROM/119 ones.  It is classified as a different buff.  I had asked Byrth if he had figured out how to detect it and he said it's named differently than having 5 steps.

I know its listed as a different buff - and in the vanilla FFXI SE have accounted for it, I recently added it to my own set also, I suggest doing a check file to remove all traces of Xi View, re-downloading the latest version as there was some mishaps on my part during its release and reinstalling - this should fix it.

If its being shown as a debug icon however, I think you're using a version prior to 2.23

Which ROM should I be updating for just the icon set then?  Cuz that's all I am really wanting to use/modify.  The dat I changed was ROM/119/ files before, is there another set?

Its Rom/119/57.dat for the English version of the icons, the "Debug: Please report" (Debug Bcnm symbol) is the default for icons that haven't been added yet.

For example, icons 0-596 are currently in use, the file contains a total of 639 icons. The remaining 43 are all currently the debug icon.

In the event SE added an icon tomorrow and you installed an older version of Xi View, it would call icon 640, which in our file is a blank debug icon.

Once we update, we add this icon via taking a new copy of their vanilla files and injecting the custom one's we've added, so the new version should at least contain the icon SE are using.

Okay,  yes, I copied over the 57.dat with the 2.23 version and it is still coming up with the debugg error when you acquire more than 5 steps.  Up to and including 5 is fine.  Oh well, I'll just have to train myself for seeing the BCNM icon as 6/7 steps for now

Managed to test it with someone with access to 5+ steps and it seemed to display correctly:

Could you try to run a file check to completely remove Xi View, redownload it to make sure there's no problem there and reinstall?

Rom/119/57 is the Status icon dat in English

Rom/119/51 is the UI dat in English

You just need 57 if you only want the status icons =)

Was XIView broke with this update?  Afraid to apply it.

They added 2 new objects, I think they are for the stronghold - marshland things and for icons they added 1 attack up icon (maybe for Ardor?), I have updated the dats with the wildman theme version but dunno if I should post them, its Wildman work.

They added some new menu items as well, new misc.3 under config and changed the friend list menu.

If they added menu options, it will have broken the UI dat which could render it unstable.

Added icons will mean you get a debug icon if you're buffed with anything new but overall it will work - so the icon dat is stable but needs updating.

I just got in from work so I'll be fixing it tomorrow now for the weekend, gotta download the update yet!

I have it updated with the misc.3 and the new communication window with friend list and emote list.
