Built in pop up windows

Are there any ways to move screen data (like texts, timers etc) to a window outside the main ffxi screen?  Maybe get some real-estate back?

What about any kind of creative ways of using lua with tcp sockets to an extrenal daemon running a window and outputting text etc?

This could be done, but it doesn't exist right now.
