    Hello,

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and since the update noticed a creeping issue.  POL.EXE and Guildwork.EXE remain after doing an 'exit' in the command area OR if Windower/POL dies.  I discovered the issue when I noticed my physical  memory usage was up to 19GB (it is normally 6.5GB or so).

    I tried:

    • Doing a kill of the two processes, but they remain.  (I'm using two methods:  (A) Taskmgr started from an admin level command prompt.  ( B ) Process Explorer running at the admin level.)
    • Logging out and back in, but found they still exist.
    • Restart and only then did all the many copies go away.

Thus whether I close Windower using the "exit" command or when it abends (about every 40 minutes or so), I'm seeing the active copy of POL.EXE and Guildwork.exe turn into Zombies.  Only a full system shutdown / restart gets the physical memory back.

How can I help collect information for you?

I had this a few weeks back, and the only thing that ended up resolving this was a complete reinstall of FFXI. You can give that a shot while you're waiting for more answers. Remember to backup the USER folder, etc.

      Hello,

I did notice a workaround.  If I unload Guildwork before I do an "exit," POL.exe disappears, BUT

if a crash occurs and I don't get the chance to unload Guildwork, well, POL.EXE and GUILDWORK.EXE are there till I restart / reboot.

Did you see the same behavior when it comes to Guildwork?
