Shikanofuda / Shihei use plugin

Was there ever any attempt or could there be to write a plugin/addon that does not use Shikanofuda for Utsusemi/Tonko/Monomi use?

all nin spells use there base tool first and if you do not have any of those it will auto use the adv tool(if available) this is part of ffxi's coding

I'm aware how this works; I was simply wondering if there would be a way to circumvent this through a plugin, ie. if you run out of Shihei the plugin would force stop and warn you instead of using Shikanofuda.

yes, this is possible either with your own addon or using gearswap.
