From time to time i'll dual box, on the same pc, and i have some macros set to trigger cure spells. Ever since i've started to use gearswap, it and send dont work together. On the caster side it shows: \ma cure II <target> but on the sending side it is: \ma "Cure II" <target> with the \console send <whom> naturally there. any clue on what is happening?

You probably need to escape the double quotes: /ma \"Cure II\" <target>
Also note the forward slash, not a backward slash like you did. Furthermore, I'd recommend using the shortcuts addon, then you can just do this:
//send cure2
