Supersampling syntax problem

Best Answer Iryoku , 24 August 2013 - 04:14 PM

I just pushed out an update for 4.1 that should fix this. I'll try to remember to backport it to 4.0 once I've confirmed that it doesn't cause any problems.

Hello, i have a problem with the supersampling option. I'm trying to set it to a value between 1 and 2, but if i type 1.5 in the <supersampling> tags in settings.xml, when i run windower again the program resets the number to 15, causing the game to not load. What am i doing wrong? :) Thanks in advance for the help

This is not incorrect. Not sure why this isn't working, to be honest. Any chance the launcher was running while you were editing it? Because if you press play, it might overwrite it again.

Nope all the editing was done with the launcher off then when i start again windower.exe he rewrites the settings.xml and change the value, taking off the dot and thus trying to supersample at 15x

As far as I can tell, the Super Sampling option is only an on/off type setting. You can't set it for a value other than 1 (off) or 2 (on).

From within the GUI, yes, however it is supposed to accept arbitrary values from the settings XML and not override those. It's especially not supposed to ignore dots and make the number explode. I'm really not sure what's happening here, it works for me. Try downloading a new Launcher and trying again.

Out of curiosity (although it shouldn't make a difference), which Windower version are you using? 4.0 or 4.1?

4.0, and does it make a difference that i'm using notepad++ to edit the settings.xml?

Currently im on foret delve runs so i cant reinstall launcher, but i will do it asap and see if it fixes the problem.

No, unless you're using some weird encoding that translates the dot character to something else, which I find very unlikely.

ok i found the time to sit down and try to resolve this issue, but still no luck. i've downloaded the 4.1 launcher too but it's still doing the same thing: i put 1.5 in the supersampling tag and when i later launch windower the number explodes and become 15. i've tried this on two different PCs and the same error is occurring. Any suggestion on how to resolve this? x_x
