I recently decided to play FFXI again and downloaded windower .

I have set it up to the settings i no from previous times and the problem i have is alt+tab will not do anything at all in borderless window and also in window mode.

i have to ctrl alt del then task manager to get to desktop but then windower crashes,

So its not possible for me to get to desktop etc using borderless/window mode.

So i figured ill try full screen this works ok and i can also alt tab to desktop but doing so crashes windower :/.

This is also the case with my friends windower.

      any help please?

Crashes for me when I alt tab sometimes... I don't have it full borderless or anything, just a portion of the screen. Windows 7. Been doing this for awhile, but used to not. Not sure if an update did it or something, but it's frustrating... and haven't seen any fix for this issue yet. Just lost a King Behemoth because of it -_-

though, tbh, I bet it would have helped if FFXI itself didn't have such a shitty default window option and would actually be coded better for PC so it'd stop crashing so easily if even another program does something or a notification happens. So many derp issues.

I am not sure about the alt tab issue the two of you have been having, this has not been happening to me. However for the issue you have with programs crashing FFXI, I do know how to fix that.

Go to Control Panel and search "UAC"(User Account Control) then bring it down to the second level. This will still give you warnings when programs attempt to make changes and such but it won't dim your screen which is what causes the game to crash.

I agree with what you say TheGodEmperor, SE should drop PS2 support at this point and really give us a decent revision. Thankfully the Windower Team has made this game playable where otherwise it wouldnt be imo.
