Battle Mod not showing Magic Bursts for blue magic spells

Okay, I was playing around with blue mage in vagary, and I used burst affinity to try and magic burst on the megabosses (plouton and perfidien), and it's not displaying magic bursts from my own spells, but it's showing magic burst for everyone else's magical damage.  I don't know if it's a problem with battlemod or not, but it displays magic burst for elemental spells (my /RDM gimp elemental nukes and for everyone else's native elemental magic), but not for stuff like anvil lightning or scouring spate (with BA up of course).  I KNOW I used BA, because I saw a damage increase, and spells that went off before and after my own nukes had the message for it, but my BLU nukes didn't.
