      I recently returned to FFXI and downloaded a fresh copy of Windower 4. It's not generating init.txt file and when i added my own custom file it still isnt loading it.

      Im unable to use the f11 command to brighten my screen in dark caves >_<

      I have deleted windower a few times and downloaded another copy each time. still no luck.

      Any ideas why it wont load.

      this screenshot shows its trying to execute1 init.txt

      I have a feeling that stupid 1 could be the issue, but hell. Im not the one who created windower.

        did you manualy edit your autoload.txt file??

        if so thats why

        it does say !!! DO NOT EDIT !!! for a reason

        the last thing should be exec init.txt; not execute1 init.txt;

          I have not modified those files at all. each profile reads "exec init.txt;" as the very last line.

          Windower has not generated an init.txt file. it just dosent even exist

            Sorry about that, init.txt was accidentally deleted from our installer some time ago and no one has bothered to add it back, so new installs don't create it any more. Are you creating your custom init.txt in the correct place? It should be created at Windower/scripts/init.txt not at Windower/scripts/autoload/init.txt or any other location.

              yes that's the location i placed my init.txt file but it still didn't load. I have tried with a blank init.txt and a copy of an init.txt from the legacy.windower forums cause that's all I could find. both files return that last line "Could not execute1 init.txt - File was not found. - 2"
