Windower crash since last update

Best Answer Dastrian , 22 June 2014 - 02:46 PM

There was no crash.log file unfortunately. As soon as I double clicked the icon it said the windower launcher crashed. However I did find a previous post that seemed to be exactly like mine where the answer ended up being to reinstall .net framework so I did that and it works now. Idk how it got messed up to begin with, but oh well. Thank you for your fast response, sorry I wasn't more helpful.

Ever since the big update the other day anytime i try to open  windower it immediately crashes. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. It works just fine after the update on my laptop, for some reason my desktop is the only place it crashes. Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, that tells us nothing.

Second, is it WIndower that's crashing (i.e. the green window that lets you select plugins and addons) or POL, i.e. after you're done in the Windower menu? Or is it FFXI, i.e. when you hit "Play" on the PlayOnline Viewer and the FFXI window is about to appear?

If it's the first and Windower is crashing, we need you to give us the crash.log file that's in the Windower folder. If it's one of the other two, we need a crash dump or we won't be able to do anything.

You posted something different on our bug tracker, so not sure what to believe... but the crash dump indicates that it's not related to the problem in this thread, as it seems to happen at FFXI launch. If it happens after FFXI launch and you're on Windows 8 then I'm afraid there's not much we can do for you.

Unfortunately we don't know what that crash is about. That issue you posted on is pretty much all the info we have on it.
