Same for me, and it is just windower, tried with no plugins/addons.

This is known. They're currently looking for the issue. At first thought it was with the new hook, but after reverting it was still crashing. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Someone on ffxiah is reporting an old version/hook working.  Others are reporting their windower is working fine.  Just some info.

You need to tell us what's wrong first. "It crashes" doesn't tell us much. Where/when does it crash? What are you doing when it crashes? Is it between the POL > FFXI transition and are you using Windows 8?

sadly, I am using windows 8 (and frankly I hate it) Windower crashed after I press play (the 2nd time) so its crashing between the brown screen and the big blue screen (where you press accept or decline). all plug-ins have been turned off, from the add-on/plug-in portion of windower.

Yeah, that's an unfortunate but known issue... we don't know what's causing it yet or how to fix it I'm afraid ><

Chriscross is my wife and we have the exact same model of laptops (HP 2000 Notebook PC) both running windows 8.1. I can get in and haven't had any problems since the update she on the other hand crashes as mentioned earlier just adding to our frustration. Thanks for the past and future help

Has anyone found a method of getting windower to run past the pol to ffxi screen on windows 8?

I was told if you if you unload all plug in, and change the compatibility to run as an admin it would allow you to work; however after doing this I was still unable to run windower.
