Windower 3.4 & Windows XP HELP!

Hey everyone, I'm returning to FFXI from a couple years break. And I've always used Windower. I been playing a few weeks now, and I am accustomed to how handy Windower is. I have Windows XP, so I understand Windower 4 won't work on it. But does anybody at all have Windower 3.4 the download fie or link? Please get back to me. I can't get windower 4 to work on my xp. Even with all the firewalls and stuff down. Thanks guys.

Most of 3.4 doesn't work at all anymore, I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't even log in with it at this point. That said, I'd give you a link if I had one. You can try our old forums.

Oh alright, so then I probably won't be able to use windower if I have XP as my OS then, right?

I'm not aware that Windower 4 isn't working on XP. What doesn't work, exactly?

While we don't officially support Windows XP any more (both SE and Microsoft have stopped supporting it), I'm not aware of any reason why it wouldn't work.

When I log on, I see the black screen where you see the red/green text. However when I am inside the game, nothing works. None of the plugins or anything. I know some are supposed to start up on automatically like spellcast, and distance. And also, I can not minimize it. from inside the game. I am getting a crash message from POL when it starts, but the game still runs as long as i ignore the message.

All my firewalls down, no backgroun programs running either.

No plugins are enabled by default. You have to enable them in the Launcher when you start up Windower.

What would type in for spell cast or the status timers? Its been too long for me to remember the commands. Not even time stamp on the chat log is activated automaticaly?

Or the TP of my party members?

im kinda curious i have the new windower but when i get into the game  i cant do anything else  but just play the game.. i cant open  anything else  unless i close out the game.. am i doing something wrong?

thats the only reason why i tried to choose to stay with the older version of windower cause the new ones i cant access anything else but that.. so if im doing something wrong please  let me know

I'm not sure what you mean. Did you try pressing Alt+Tab? Does that crash you? Are you sure you started the Windower launcher?

yea i started the windower launcher i go through pol  and i can move my mouse cursor anywhere on my screen.. when it changes from pol to ffxi  my mouse cursor will not move anywhere but inside the windower box which means i cant access anything else unless i close the game out

Thats almost what I'm talking about.. same problem as him. My launcher opens up, I get a crash report but it doesnt crash I can still play. But none of the plugins or anything works, and my mouse cursor is fucked off. How does one enable a plug in manually again? I was used to 3.4 auto-launching.

I run Windower 4 on my XP just fine and ever since since we switched to 4.1, everything works fine. No crashing anymore on the POL switchover. Did you try a fresh install of it?
