This just started today. I haven't tested if it works for other statuses, but if you are idle, no matter what gear you put on spellcast swaps you into your idle set with nothing to trigger this action. I don't know if this is an intended change or not, but it makes it difficult to craft new gearsets without unloading spellcast or manually override gear temporarily for other reasons.

This has been fixed a few hours ago. Try restarting the launcher to get the most up-to-date version.
