Image and Text Layering

I apologize if this is somewhere in one of the libraries and I missed it. Basically, is there any way to control the order in which texts and images get drawn on the screen?

Specifically, I mean "I want this image under this text" or "I want this image to overlap this one", that sort of stuff.

Not that I'm aware of. Primitives overlap in the order they're created. Text always appears above primitives.
