Discord crashes Windower (fix outlined)

So I was having some issues today getting windower going. Found that the problem was with running discord in administrator mode SPECIFICALLY when using discords "in game overlay".

If you are running Discord in Admin, and try to boot up Windower, only to crash when POL tries to launch then check your discord settings to make sure that the in game overlay is DISABLED.

just thought I'd put this finding here since it really baffled me and took a bit of time to figure it out.

Yeah... Unfortunately, because Windower hooks the Direct3DCreate8 function and wraps the IDirect3D8 instance it returns, anything that attempts to do the same thing is very likely to crash the game. This includes most overlays, including Steam and Discord.
