Found my issue, it was the dumbest thing.

I have the Razer Synapse Software installed for switching audio to my headphones/hdmi/speakers/etc and switching it to a different audio source worked.

So I have been having this ongoing battle with FFXI and/or windower since the most recent return to vanadiel campaign started.

My PC is running WIndows 10 x64 with a GeForce 970 if any other particulars are needed I can provide them.

I can get FFXI to launch and play just fine without windower, however I lose all the great features and benefits of using windower.

Basically what happens is I load up Windower running as administrator, do the usual put in my password and what not, click through to play FFXI,

The changeover happens (where the POL window disappears and the FFXI game window appears) and all I see is a white screen for a few moments before the crash.

When looking at event viewer I see several information level notices like this one

      Fault bucket , type 0
      Event Name: APPCRASH
      Response: Not available

The Error in the log shows as

and the one that truly boggles the mind as to why I see it (information level) is this and it happens maybe one or two after the pol notice.

      What I've done so far:

Do a File Check on POL & FFXI

      Uninstall and re-install POL

uninstall and re-install POL AND FFXI

      Enabled DirectPlay

tried an app called dgvoodoo2 as suggested on other places.

I'm really at my wit's end, can anyone shed some light on this?

      Thanks!
