As with all third-party applications, be sure to run as admin after installing, and make sure keyboard_allowmmf is set to 1
Important note: If your first lookup with Pricer or PlayerInfo is very slow, you need to turn off IE autmatic proxy detection. Instructions are:

First, open internet explorer, and go to internet options

Then, under the connections tab, click on LAN Settings

Uncheck the automatic proxy detection box, and click OK to close all of the windows.

XI-Util is a plugin-based framework for FFXI. The idea behind this is essentially:

• You shouldn't need to run multiple programs for every minor thing.
  
• Automatic updates, there should be no need to continually check a forum thread for changes.
  
• Should handle multiple FFXI instances properly. There should be no need to close/reopen a program if you log a new character in, or log one out.
  
• Improved logging across the board, for easier debugging.
  
• No need to alt-tab from ffxi; everything is capable of being driven from the FFXI console.
  
• Ease of development, process management is handled by the application, plugins only need to concentrate on doing work

XI-Util Instructions
When you first launch XI-Util, the window will look more or less empty, like this:


This is because XI-Util is plugin driven, and none are loaded by default. Click the edit menu, and choose plugins, and a window containing all of the available plugins will pop up


Click a plugin to enable or disable it. Once you are finished, close the plugin window.


You'll notice that the interface has changed. XI-Util uses a tabbed layout for plugins. Not every plugin requires a display element, but those that do will show up in a tab on the main XI-Util window, like so:


You can also configure settings for your plugins. Under the Edit menu is an option for Settings, clicking this will allow you to configure settings for each plugin. Similar to the main XI-Util window, each plugin has its own tab, and not every plugin has configurable settings.

I have all Plugins checked, all of them installed (currently in C:\Program Files\XI Util as default installation put them) but both PlayerInfo and Pricer don't show up as tabs or work in-game for me to use

Update today, broke memlocs, I'll fix when I get home.

Edit: extended maintenance, haven't been able to get on today. I'll update the memlocs as soon as I can get online tomorrow.

Finally got on, memlocs for pricer/playerinfo haven't changed, everything should still be working.

What if you use Mozilla Firefox and also have IE as well, I mean I knwo what to do for IE, ( even though i don't use it.. My child sort of does..) but anything to do with FF? I take it nothing since you never listed it.

I use firefox, and have only had issues w/ what i stated in the previous posts. Didn't have to do anything.

The browser you use doesn't matter; .NET attempts to set your proxy based on your internet explorer settings. So even if you never use internet explorer, you'll want to open it up and untick the checkbox.

I believe I requested this before but the topic got redone and moved here, so I'll mention it again.

Can you make it so in the Gearup settings you can enable/disable searching for an XML by default. Default would be off, but let users have the option of turning it on to select special XML's in case they would like to gear up for something specific that doesn't involve just their job status.

update DID killed this it was working great before so did pricer and yarnball but thats another topic

This was found and fixed yesterday, a new update is available to update pricer and playerinfo.

Was it working after the version update but before the xi-util update? Do you use windower sandbox?

No sir, those two quit working after the update, and no I dont use Sandbox

I haven't changed anything since it was working, but it's very very possible i'm missing a small something.

I just started using XI-Utils today. I have a good deal of experience with various XI-related programs. I am on Windows 7 and am using Sandbox. Keyboard, internet options, etc. are all adjusted. Programs are up to date.

Pricer and Playerinfo are not working for me either.

Send, Sandbox, Search are working.

What is this Sandbox you are talking about??? I have the Ultilty DL, but wondering if there is going to be another update, should I just wait till after this update, to use pricer??? or??

can you please make it so that after it auto-updates it restarts the app. right now its just opening the dir which is better than nothing but would be nice if it just started the app again.

Would like to see a ffxi alarm type plugin for this, mainly to trigger on keyword so I don't have to sit and watch all the shouts. I can do it with chatmon but having to go in and change/undo the file as needed is kind of a hassle compared to having the ffxi alarm interface.

Could you have it tell your which plugins are being updated instead of just saying "There are # updates".
I personally don't use a couple of the plugins because they don't want to behave on my system, or have stopped behaving (gearup /cry )
And I'd love to know when they get updated so I could turn them back on after an update but still leave un-updated ones that have caused me issues off.

Thanks for a great app btw I love having a nice clean U.I. for the plugins and hope you can incorporate more plugins over time, I see myself using the crap outta this
