XI Vision is the continued work on the project to update FFXIs in game maps to contain more information and details for added convienance, this was formerly known as Cartography.

XI Vision includes updated in game maps pulled from Sean's Map Pack, www.ffxi-atlas.com and maps I have modified myself.

--== INSTALLATION ==--
To install XI Vision download then extract the archive and then copy the ROM folders to your FFXI directory choosing yes when prompted to overwrite any files. The FFXI directory is usually located at X:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ or in x64 OS, X:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ X in place of your drive label. (Usually C)

*The Steam version of FINAL FANTASY XI is located at X:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ffxi\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI and X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ffxi\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI

NOTE: Please note that some mob families aren't displayed on the new Scars of Abyssea maps such as the Smilodons in Vunkerl or the Dragons in Attowa because they have unusual/timed pop patterns and weren't currently spawned when I was originally mapping the areas. At some point when all mob groups are discovered I will re-update these maps both for in game use and radar programs.

UPDATE/PATCH VERSIONS
XI Vision 1.00 > 1.03 [UPDATE] - (685 KB) - If you already have 1.00 or higher installed you can use this to update with a much smaller download.

FULL VERSIONS
XI Vision V1.03 [FULL] - (26.00 MB) - Added modified Heroes of Abyssea maps.
XI Vision V1.02 [FULL] - (25.83 MB) - Added modified Scars of Abyssea maps.
XI Vision V1.01 [FULL] - (25.63 MB) - Modified the Visions of Abyssea maps to make them easier to read. Examples can be found here, here and here.
XI Vision V1.00 [FULL] - (25.62 MB) - Added the north lands [S]. Added the Abyssea zone maps.

Np. I plan on updating the Abyssea maps for ease of readability. For the moment it's just what I pulled from Sean's Map Pack.

EDIT: Might be able to fit the NM information on there in the future but for now I updated the older Abyssea maps for they are much easier to read.

it asks me to replace my rom folder.. not just the files in it, .. Unless of course, you didn't mean the acutal "Rom" folder.. and i'm supposed to get the individual folders outta rom, rom 2, ect etc.. lol, because that works..

What Operating System are you on? I believe on Windows XP/Vista/7 it should give you an option to replace just the files. Normally on Windows 7 when dragging the ROM folders inside of the /ffxi/ directory it just replaces the files that it needs to. You sure you aren't misunderstanding the prompt message you're getting?

ok, yea.. i'm an idiot. After a good nights sleep and and some coffee this morning your right, I misread. It looked like it was gonna replace the entire ROM folder but after careful observation (reading)... It was asking to merge them. In my defense (lol), I remember installing something could have been the old ffxi UI mods, that when i extracted to the ffxi folder it just asked if I wanted to rep files whereas this one asked if I wanted to merge folders then asked if I wanted merge the folders in there and then finally asked if i wanted to replace files but that might have been on win xp and i have win 7 now.. Anyway got it worked out thanks very much.

MediaFire is back up.

If anyone has the .DAT locations for the new Scars of Abyssea maps that would be extremely helpful in helping me update once we get the zones explored and the maps marked.

edit: Just got done doing my first run in the coast. There are some mobs which probably have timed spawns or special spawn conditions that aren't up yet.

I shutdown & logged out my game...
Installed the FULL XI Vision V1.02 Maps in my game folder...
but I still don't have any Scars of Abyssea maps.

Something I missed or not doing right, can you help me?

Do you have a list of the areas that you haven't done yet?
(would be nice be just to know what to expect)

Hmm. It's definitely working for me. Also you can install while the game is running, you would just need to zone to notice the change.

Can you tell me what version you're using and what you're doing to install it?

I logged out the game, I always do this before I install any mods or update resource files for my windower.
I was using XI Vision V1.01 [FULL] - (25.63 MB) then dowloaded the update patch, XI Vision 1.00 > 1.02 [UPDATE] - (465.47 KB).

I download the RAR file package to my desktop, open it with WinRar,dragged & dropped the contents of the Rar file to my desktop as well, & opened the FFXI install directory.

Next I began to highlight all then folders at once, drag & drop the ROM - ROM5 folders into my FFXI directory folder in one shot.
Windows asked me if i would like to "Merge" & "copy & replace", and I did so.

After this I logged into my game & saw that the map was working for Aht Urhgan Whitegate, so I figured, NICE!! IT WORKS!
But then I went to abyssea Misareaux Coast - Abyssea to get my warp points in the zone & no map so now I'm like "???".

Then I said hmmmm, let me try the whole new package(XI Vision V1.02 FULL)..... maybe something missing from the patch?
Still, I get nothing...Any Ideas?

Hmm. What language version of the game are you using? Let me double check and make sure that zone is working.

Maybe you can try manually installing the Scars of Abyssea maps from my .7z archive?
