I have been using windower a long time and I know with updates there are usually issues that come along with them. Since I installed the update this morning my POL takes noticeably longer to load and when I alt+tab my system freezes for about 10 seconds to get out of the game and the same amount of time to get back into it.

I have had this problem ever since I installed Windower and thought that was how it was suppose to be. I have exactally 15 seconds of freeze between start up and then between alt-tabbing back and forth. A couple weeks ago for some reason it stopped doing it and worked perfectly (I didn't change anything) and then last week it went back to what I am use to with the freeze.
I'd love to know how to get rid of this as well.

I was having the same problem. I read the forums all over and everything they suggested didn't work. Downgrading my drivers, Running the window shortcut as Admin, etc... It was driving me insane. I was not only freezing when alt+tabbing in and out, but when i would /logout or /shutdown the game would crash.
However, the freezing wasn't only in windower, but other apps too... one of them was Ventrilo. It would freeze when logging in to a server, or going to Setup menus... it was strange. I went on their forums and found similar cases and their suggestion was to uninstall Cyberlink software. This can be PowerDVD, or any of their other software. So I did.
After I did, I was surprised to see that it worked. Ventrilo no longer froze and even better yet, Windower doesn't freeze either anymore... it might be just some strange coincidence, but it seems to have solved the issue.
I didn't mind uninstalling the software, it came pre-dundled on my system and I never even used it, i prefer MPC 6.4. I'd suggest you try the same, it might do the trick.

Sadly, I uninstalled all of that and I still have the freezing issues. It's really annoying!
