Any way to make it so that you can run FFXI (Windower or regular), and not have it crash whenever you start a program that goes fullscreen (Such as another video game, Windows Media Center, etc.)

hmm.. are you forcing fullscreen mode (setting a lower resolution and then using the window toggle fullscreen command to force it to stretch)?

Could be a driver issue. There have been many reports of Windower crashing when focus is lost. In those cases, going to an older version usually fixes it.

I haven't had any issues with my ATI4850 in XP Pro on the 9.1 drivers. Granted, I run the overlay in full native resolution now (don't have windowed mode toggeled in SE's config either) and always //minimize before opening anything on my desktop.

Nah it's not FFXI that's going fullscreen that makes it stop responding, it's other programs (Counterstrike for instance)

The answer is no, when another app enters "full screen" mode ffxi will crash.

Put your other app in windowed mode at the same res as your desktop or "full window mode" as some progs have started calling it.
