I had the same problems you did, and although I know people who have gotten things working properly it was a royal pain. Had to completely reconfigure all the keys anyway. The Logitech, plugged it in and everything worked with no extra config necessary after installing the driver.

If you can do this, I second it. Having played FFXI on PS2 since release, this controller feels brilliant and has great support from the game. The default config setting 1 in the controller setup tool for FFXI is a perfect match for both the Rumblepad 2 and Wireless Rumblepad 2. All you have to do is install the wingman gaming software (included on CD, I recommend that you update through website though of course.) and enable controller settings and setup # 1 in the FFXI config tool for the controller. Also might enable rumble too, works great.
It might be worthy to mention that the Logitech Rumblepad2/Wireless was a endorsed (or however you call it) product by SE for FFXI, game adapted to use it. For a few years many controller included demo trials to FFXI through a online install of just the basic game (no expansions, not even ROTZ.)
Hope you can understand my post, I'm a bit tired (27 hours no sleep atm) running on E.

the reason its not working is probally due to the fact u are running homebrew drivers for the original xbox controller.... try donwloading drivers from microsoft i use a wired and wireless and both work like a charm and every logitech controller ive ever used has been fail, 360 controller or gtfo

I soo have to agree with this. This baby has worked like a charm. And it doesnt drain batteries as fast as some other cordless deivces. Though I cant get it to rumble in FFXI. Dunno why.

I've never had a problem with any of the 4 Logitech rumplepads (2 wireless) I use across my PCs and room mates PC, and I've used them for years. I'm sorry that you have experienced trouble carpesaxum.

I award you one burned 360 controller for your logic and reason.

It makes about as much sense as the above statement.

My account on there is ZeRoLiMiT, if you have any questions about the 360 wireless controller, ask away. And yes it does get rumble in FFXI. (And I run vista x64 ultimate, with sp1 and unsigned drivers)

Iwas wondering if Xbox 360 controllers (the ones with the cord) can beused for PC games because they have the USB connection thing and canplug into a USB port. Does anyone know because I would much rather usea 360 controller than a keyboard for some PC games.

Do you have a download link for the correct drivers to get the rt/lt to work? I originally started playing on 360, but until this guy comes out for windower on 360 (laugh) I will continue using PC to play, I do however miss my rt/lt buttons, never had a problem with installing the 360 controller on my laptop or PC, wireless, and corded, just that darn rt/lt buttons dont work >.<
Thanks..
