Returning after 5yr's, is Windower safe?

Hello good people of Windower,

I'm returning after a 5yr hiatus and was wondering if Windower is safe to use? I've tried to search for some information on this and have had a hard time finding answers? I'm not looking to load lots of plugins, just the basic application and maybe one or two but not tons (unless there are some real gems??). Is there anything i should know about using this or if anyone has had issues using or with SE? I do remember it was quite popular and maybe even more so now, but i figure this would be the place to get the best information from before i get invested.

It is not anymore riskier or safer than it was when you played 5 years ago. If you used spell cast it has been replaced by gearswap which uses packets (but seems reasonably safe so far). If you are going with basic stuff tho you should be fine.
