Issues with Timers Plugin.

Best Answer Shuiyen , 15 August 2014 - 09:29 AM

I believe this is a problem with the current version of Timers, the right people are aware of it, and after reading a post on FFXIAH there should be a new version coming soon-ish. The thread on FFXIAH has quite a bit of info, could be worth taking a look http://www.ffxiah.co...imers-plugin/3/

      I'm having an issue with the Timers plugin. for some reason the Buffs won't stay in the area set in the settings xml. After about 15-20 min of going through buff cycles, the buffs timers will slowly move down my screen. only way I found to fix this was to reload the plug in but it will lose all the timers.

          Have we figured out a permanent fix for Timers? It's really odd, on my main PC Timers works perfectly fine (v2.0.4.2). But on my mules PC (v2.0.4.2) it has the standard issue of pushing everything off the screen after 'x' amount of timers have been created. I tried the above dev version but it crashes me every 1-3 hours so I deleted it.

          Just curious  :rolleyes:

          Try the link again, there has been a new dev version pushed a while ago.

            Not an issue - just a question.  I often find it difficult to read the timer names ("Erratic Flutter", etc) when the background is white (Qufim, etc).  Is there any way to change the background for the text from white-on-transparent to (say) white-on-black?  Thanks.

              In the Timers.xml file under plugins\settings, check the values for bgA, bgR, bgG, and bgB under the global section. By default, R, G, and B should be 0 (zero) to make the background black with A being 128 (half transparent). It looks like this:

                  <global>
                      [some settings here]
                      <bgA>128</bgA>
                      <bgR>0</bgR>
                      <bgG>0</bgG>
                      <bgB>0</bgB>
                      [some more settings here]
                  </global>

              You can adjust bgA closer to zero to make the background less transparent. (0 = no transparency, 255 = full transparency)

              Please note that I have the graphicalMode and slimMode options set to false, and I don't recall how those affect the display of the background. Another thing I've done is move the display so it sits within the chat log on the far right side (near the party info), so I don't have any issues with seeing it no matter what zone I'm in and it usually doesn't impede the text in the chat log either.

                Krellion - many thanks.

                You are right that when I turn graphic mode off, the background can be adjusted.  Problem is, when I turn graphic mode on (I *do* like the graphical bar) it appears that the bg's have no effect.  Even when I set bgA to 255 and the other three to zero, the background for the text is totally transparent.

                Is my only solution to give up my pretty graph bars, do you think?

                I can add an option for a font outline, I think. But I'll have to test it first.

                  Implemented it and pushed to the dev build. You can download the file manually here and run it on the live Windower:

                      I'm Japanese user and having problem with font display.

                      Abilities/Magics name font missing bottom If I set fontSize to more than 8.

                      small fontSize fixes this problem, but too small for Kanji.

                      Can you remove something that undercutting bottom of Abilities/Magics name font?

                      Thanks :)

                        It's false by default.

                            Find your Windower\plugins\settings\timers.xml file, and change <fontName>Arial</fontName> to <fontName>Meiryo</fontName>.
