XI View V2.2.1 (Sept, 1, 2017) - [USER INTERFACE]

Its strange that nothing is happening - firstly are you copying the file away from the FFXI directory prior to editing? Even in admin mode Changetex may have trouble altering files that require admin access (though it'll quite happily report it was successful)

 

 

Best thing to do is copy the files elsewhere prior to making the changes, then move them and overwrite ROM/0/14.dat - set the in game option to 1 for this to work

 

If you're still having issues and are able upload your dds files and I'll see if I can get them to work my end

Had to turn off read only on the dat file properties.

5 July, 2017 Update: SE added a "new icon", well they added a new description as the icon uses the debug icon (the lazyness of SE does not cease to amaze me), probably the icon for the new trust ygnas?

Make sure you have the icon type set to 2 in config misc

Yeah, I've made sure of that. After the update, they've resorted back to the default icons. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've downloaded this new one 3x in 3 different spots, but nothing. 

Then make sure you are replacing the correct dat ...\ROM\119\57.dat and make sure its being overwritten by looking at the last modification date

Does the UI one work for you?

After checking to make sure it's being modified, the date is saying today, so that is correct. 

As for the UI one? Which one is that exactly? I'm sorry, I'm a newbie to all this, I remember how to update the files though. 

the UI is the 119\51.dat

119/51.dat and 119/57.dat - Both say they were modified on 7/5/2017.

Are you extracting the files to somewhere that wouldn't be effected by file permissions? Typically its best to extract the Zip to somewhere like your documents and then copy/paste them into the appropriate folder

Emergency maintenance updated the 119/57 Icon data. Safe to replace it or wait?

Safe to replace, the emergency maint was due to a problem on some users that were unable to download the update, so the files are the same than the previous update.

so i am starting to get really really frustrated. I downloaded xi view and did exactly what was in the video, i go to run my windower, i get all the way to the beginning screen off ffxi where you hit play and my xiloader immediately crashes, i went to go use the backup to get the original files back, load up windower again and now i cant get on the game at all, xiloader crashes at the same part no matter what i do

if you are crashing then you replaced the wrong dats, you gotta run a file check.
