    Hello,

For some reason, in Yorcia Weald, the minimap is showing an incorrect position compared to the full map.

It's not a very large discrepancy, but for such a tricky map, it shows you in an incorrect area which make it difficult to navigate then...

This is very weird, as it uses the same mapping function as the game itself. Can you open the map and then make a screenshot of both the map and the FFXIDB plugin? (You can do that by typing //screenshot png.)

I was at the exact position of the F-7 Lair Reive. See screenshot where ffxidb was showing me vs normal game map.

I tested it myself, the map you're using is wrong, not FFXIDB. As you can see, the markings on the map are all wrong. They may have done it to offset how the game loads the map or something, maybe they got the format wrong, I don't know. Either way, there's nothing we can do about it, you will need to replace the map. The FFXIDB plugin actually shows your corrent position on the map, but the blue rectangle is too for north by northeast, it needs to be lower. If you know who created it, you should contact them.

Indeed, reverted to the original map and the discrepancy disappeared!

Which is weird, because ffxidb and the game are using the exact same map.

Anyway, this modified map has many issues in the markings...

        Thanks!

I believe this was because when a few of those new areas came out, people made the edited dat's. Then a few weeks later SE made a statement about those maps being off a little and patched those maps. No one ever made new map dats , so using the old one which you had will show coordinates being off some.

            Hi,

I find it very complicated to create per character settings, and searched everywhere and didn't find a clue on how to do it, if anyone would explain what to actually add on the ffxidb.XML file, I would be really thankful.

            Ty.

It does seem that the map is picky on where it'll display.  If there's no known map in the game the minimap won't appear, for example inside your moghouse (which in all honesty is no loss since you don't need a map in there anyways.)  But there was a position where the map disappeared, I think it when I was standing right on top of a telepoint in Xarcabard.  I can't remember but I think it also didn't show up in WoE.  I'd have to venture back in there and recheck it.

Which then brings me onto a slightly off-topic query, since the map is currently using dats from the game will there be support added at a later date for user created maps?  I've been thinking of redesigning the newer maps to include boss details and routes for paths that take you up mountains.

That's already supported. The maps need to be in the Windower/plugins/FFXIDB/map/maps/ folder, and the files need to be in the following format:
                <zoneID>_<mapID>.<jpg|png|bmp>

can you guys post your ROM/302/66.dat for Yorcia Weald that works?

I found in a version update download from BG i still had what i thot was the original map dat but it is off as well. on both the modded map and the original there is a transparent section at the top as if the map is displayed slightly lower than it normally would be. my position on the in game /map is correct but the ffxidb map is off.

here is a link to some screen shots i took to illustrate my problems.

                  http://www.bluegartr...l=1#post6157445

Also how would one find the zoneID and mapID to use a custom map with ffxidb?

                  EDIT: K thanks guys i got a fixed 66.dat

I'm so happy to have found this (I say found becuase I never knew it existed).  I have spent days looking for map packs and such for apradar and mappy and this is really all I wanted.

                      Thanks so much!

Quick question, is resizing an option yet and if not, are you still planning on adding that functionality?  Thanks!

Thank you for this info! May I know how I can get the mapID? I am currently looking at the map.ini from another thread in this forum. For example:

                        West Ronfaure:

                        zoneID: 100

                        I have tried:

                        WRonfaure

                        00

                        64

                        64_0

But all do not work after zoning/unloading and loading/reloading ffxidb.

                        Thank you in advance.

PS: Is it possible for me to just toss all the .DAT files into the FFXIDB/map/maps folder? I couldn't find map packs in .png files. They're all in .DAT files only sadly and I gotta extract them one by one and renaming them.

you don't happen to have something to tell us the zone/map IDs do you? I mean are the zone/map IDs the names used in the map pack ApRadar uses? that would certainly make things easier if they are

more specifically FFXIDB doesnt even show up for the 2 new maps

                          Escha - Zi'Tah & Escha - Ru'Aun

so I figured if I can get the zone ID the map ID is going to be something like 00 or 01 since there is only 1 map for each of those zones
